first-timer

Okay, I wrote a book. It's a tiny book, but it's a book. Size doesn't matter.

As I mention on page 5 of "parents say the darndest things", the intent was not to write a book or share my wisdom with the world. My wife & a friend were swapping kid stories and a light bulb (in my brain, it was only a 20 watt bulb) went off when our friend said "I never thought I would ever say....."

...Not the kind of junk like mom and day said about poking someone's eye out, or swimming too quickly after eating. I'm talking stupid stuff. Did I ever think I'd say "WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE SEAT ON OUR BOY STUFF!" Well, no. Not even in college. What about "Was it a poop poop or a little poop?" Again, not even in college.

So, my wife and I began to write down the things we said. If it was weird or silly, it probably made the list on our fridge. Yes, the book was basically written on a Whirlpool appliance.

Okay, last thing. If you have a great line that you'd like to share, post away! Or email parentssay@yahoo.com I'd love to hear the story behind the statement. Sometimes, you don't need a story when you have something as as simple as "stop licking your brother!"

Until next time, buh bye.

  1. Very Impressed here. I didn't even know that you knew how to READ a book.
